Hey all! Kristina checking in. Not sure I have mentioned, but I work days, my husband works nights and we have 2 children. This translates to a hectic schedule sometimes. To help manage time, we cook freezer meals in our household. I cook at least three recipes a week but in batches of 4 weeks worth of meals at a time. I prefer to do no cooking on the day of assembly but that doesn't always work out. This particular "recipe" is just a big pot o' chili.

Every once in awhile I feel the need to reevaluate. Reevaluate my course in life, in business, in everything. Well that happened recently. We have been focusing on making stuff, lots of stuff, why? It's fun to veg out while making the same thing 20 times till it becomes muscle memory, but it's not very fulfilling. Recently I have discovered that making patterns is more fulfilling.

David shared a walking path he has been visiting with his friends. Dad, Layla and I all went with him and had a hot, sweaty time. But we did have fun looking at the cool plants, flowers and the river. Layla had fun sniffing everything.

Learning Canning

I took a class on canning from Colorado State University - home study course - and yes, I did graduate and yes, I learned a lot! I finished the class feeling more confident in my canning abilities. Since then I have canned - water bath and pressure - a lot of jellies, fruits, veggies, meats and soups. I am always on the look out for good recipes.

Oven fried bacon

I have heard about cooking bacon in the oven, so thought I would give it a try.

Place your bacon on a tinfoil covered pan or on a rack over a tinfoil covered pan, and place in the oven. Turn to 400 degrees and wait.
